We reported recently about Ferrari Australia announcing that the waiting list for its 488 GTB could be as long as four years. Well, Mazda Australia has just announced that the waiting list for its recently launch MX-5 there, might be even longer than the prancing horse.
According to reports, compared to the 430 orders received for the Ferrari 488 GTB, Mazda Australia Marketing Director Alastair Doak was cited saying the MX-5 has gotten a whopping 9,623 “strong expression of interest” and could generate a longer waiting list.
The reports goes on to say that Mazda has only allocated 125 units of the sportscar per month for the Australian market. At the moment, there are eight versions of the MX-5 offered there depending on engine choice, gearbox, trim level and choice of six body colours.
