Peugeot 308 Racing Cup 01

Peugeot has taken the covers off the new 308 Racing Cup, which supersedes the RCZ Racing Cup in both single-make championships and saloon and sports car racing series. The car will be available from the end of 2016 to customers all around the world.

Designed by the in-house design studio, the 308 Racing Cup is equipped with bespoke aerokit consisting of front and rear bumpers, front splitter, and a huge rear wing inspired by the WTCC. It is 106 mm wider than the 308 GTi and rides on 18-inch wheels shod with either slick or wet tyres.

Powering the 308 Racing Cup is a 1.6-litre THP that incorporates the 208 T16‘s turbocharger for a total output of 308 hp – 38 more than the 308 GTi. The car is also beefed up with a host of mouth-watering goodies including a six-speed sequential transmission, paddle shifters, and six-piston brake calipers for its track duties.

Weight, meanwhile, will be restricted to between 1,000 kg and 1,050 kg.
