Following the Volkswagen diesel emission scandal, it has been reported by Reuters that two car brands under the group, Audi and Skoda, has announced that 2.1 million and 1.2 million of its cars respectively, are fitted with the ‘Defeat Device’ which cheated the EPA testing results.

According to the report, Audi said that 1.45 million units are in Western Europe, 577,000 units are in Germany itself and some 13,000 in the United States. It goes on to say that it involves Audi’s A1, A3, A4, A5, A6, TT, Q3 and Q5 models.

In a separate report, Czech manufacturer Skoda has also announced that 1.2 million of its TDI cars are fitted with the Bosch developed ‘Defeat Device’ software.
