DS 4 Facelift 02

Citroen’s DS Automobiles has unveiled the facelifted DS 4, which will now be offered in hatch and Crossback body styles.

With 115,000 examples sold since its inception in 2011, the update for the DS 4 comes in a timely fashion. The car gets a new and refreshed look to its front end, with the addition of a ‘DS Wings’ front grille and new LED headlamps as found on the DS 3 and DS 5. The latter feature a total of 84 LEDs.

Aimed at customers looking for ‘urban and extra-urban adventure’, the Crossback sits 30 mm higher than the hatchback and gets a range of softroader add-ons such as wheel arch trims, skid plates, grey roof bars and a rear spoiler finished in black.

Inside, the DS 4 is equipped with a new 7-inch touch display with Mirror Screen and Apple CarPlay connectivities. According to DS Automobiles, the screen has the added benefit of requiring 12 fewer buttons on the centre console.

Set to be launched in the UK in November, the DS 4 will be offered with a range of petrol and diesel engines. The petrol lineup starts with a PureTech 130 engine with 128 hp and 230 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual. Next is a 162 hp/240 Nm THP 165 unit with a new six-speed automatic transmission.

A THP 210 variant sits on top of the range, with six-speed manual and a total output of 208 hp and 285 Nm of torque.

As for diesel, the entry-level DS 4 comes with a BlueHDi 120 engine packing 118 hp and 300 Nm of torque. It can be paired with either a six-speed manual or six-speed auto. Above it is a six-speed manual BlueHDi 150 with 148 hp and 370 Nm. A six-speed auto BlueHDi 180 tops the diesel range with 178 hp and a healthy 400 Nm of torque.
