“Fascinating and technically sophisticated cars form the core of Mercedes-Benz. The ‘Concept IAA’ applies intelligent innovations to resolve the conflicting aims of functionality and aesthetics and shows that we still have plenty of ideas on how to achieve further improvements in efficiency,” said Mercedes-Benz Cars Development Head and Daimler Board of Management for Group Research Member Prof. Dr Thomas Weber.

The Concept IAA wears a sleek coupe-looking silhouette boasting an aerodynamics value of just 0.19 Cd with the help of some intelligent design mode that alters the car’s shape by either with a press of a button or when the vehicle reaches 80 km/h. It seems that eight segments extend at the rear, increasing its length by up to 390 mm, front flaps in the front bumper extend by 25 mm to the front and 20 mm to the rear and the louvre in the front bumper moves 60 mm to the rear.
