KTM Malaysia (formerly known as KTM Malaysia CKD) today expands its model offering in the country with the launch of the new KTM 1050 Adventure enduro bike.
The youngest member of the Adventure range, the 1050 Adventure is an entry-level bike that was developed for those who are looking for a capable enduro with low costs of ownership. The bike features a 1,050 cc 75-degree V-twin engine with 95 hp and 107 Nm of torque; with 90 Nm available from as low as 2,500 rpm. A six-speed transmission with PASC slipper clutch transfers the output to the rear wheel.
On the chassis front, the 1050 Adventure features a chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame matched with upside-down 43-mm WP front fork and rear monoshock. The handlebar is wider than that of the 1190 Adventure and offers 20 mm of adjustment, the foot pegs have 10 mm of diagonal adjustment, while the windshield can be heightened or lowered by 25 mm. The seat is positioned 850 mm from the ground.
As for electronics, the enduro is packed with ride-by-wire throttle technology that eliminates shuddering and unintentional wheelies. The bike gets disengageable traction control and three ride modes – Street, Sport and Rain. Offroad mode is offered as an option.
Elsewhere, you’ll find a central LCD screen for displaying all riding conditions plus speedo and rev counter with adjustable gearshift light, and a further LCD on the left that displays ride modes and other additional information. Mode switch with up, down, return and confirm buttons are placed on the left side of the handlebar. Braking power comes from Brembo braking system complete with ABS.
The KTM 1050 Adventure is offered here as a CBU model, with a basic selling price of RM77,888.
