Following our post about a road rage by a foreigner on a motorbike yesterday, local news daily The Star has reported that the 39-year-old British rider is expected to be charged for damage of property and criminal intimidation.
According to the report, the suspect’s wife, who was in a chauffeur-driven car behind him, claimed that the Perodua had clipped the number plate of her husband’s motorcycle while trying to overtake a car.
The suspect’s wife went on to admit that her driver forced the Perodua to the side of the highway as they ignored their request to pull over. She also said the couple in the Perodua used abusive word too.
The suspect’s wife was cited in the report saying, “Stuff like this happens in other countries but social media has made it a lot worse. I will not leave Malaysia because of one incident. I am not a racist, I actually love Malaysia. I really do.”
However, she did not comment about the broken windscreen and driver’s window seen on the Perodua, according to the report.
The report ended with Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Willey Richard saying that the suspect is expected to be charged at the Kajang magistrate’s court Tuesday for damage of property and criminal intimidation.
