Mazda has lifted the veils off its 2017 CX-9 SUV at the Los Angeles Auto Show which will open its doors to the public this weekend.
Wearing its stylish KODO design, the Mazda CX-9 gets a new fascia, boldly featuring its signature front grille flanked by slim LED headlights with elegantly sculptured side and central air vents. The rear looks to feature a tailgate-mounted spoiler and dual exhaust system.
Compared to the previous model, the new CX-9 is 30 mm shorter but gets 55 mm longer wheelbase, which translates to shorter front and rear overhangs, giving a more dynamic stance. The entire look is completed with a set of 18- to 20-inch wheels.
The 7-seater cabin is said to boast high-quality materials with an aluminum piece that stretches across the dashboard. There’s also Auburn-colored Nappa leather upholstery, authentic Japanese rosewood trim sourced from a guitar manufacturer, and optional 4.6-inch TFT display mounted between the gauges. For entertainment, the MAZDA CONNECT infotainment is mated to a 12-speaker Bose audio system.
Under the hood is a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine that delivers 227 hp and 420 Nm of torque, coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission paired to a front or all-wheel drive system.
