2016 Lamborghini Huracan Spyder 01

JH Italia Sdn. Bhd. (the sole authorised dealer for Lamborghini in Malaysia) today unveiled the new Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 Spyder at their showroom in Glenmarie, Shah Alam. The ceremony was officiated by Sebastien Henry, Head of Operations, South East Asia along with Chief Operating Officer, Marcus Chye of Lamborghini Kuala Lumpur.

Having made its global debut at the recent Frankfurt Motor Show just weeks before, the Huracan Spyder will replace the Gallardo Spyder, which was the brand’s best-selling open top model in its 52-year history.

Like its hard top counterpart, the Huracan Spyder is built around a hybrid chassis made from aluminium and carbon fibre that is 40 percent stiffer over the model it is replacing. Its outer skin, meanwhile, is made from aluminium and composite material.

The soft top features an electrohydraulic mechanism, which enables it to be opened or closed in just 17 seconds at speeds up to 50 km/h. The car rolls on 20-inch wheels shod with 245/30 (front) and 305/30 (rear) Pirelli tyres.

On the handling front, the supercar boasts aluminium double-wishbone suspension with steel springs and hydraulic dampers, along with a standard electromechanical power steering. For better feel and performance, customers may opt for the magneto-rheological dampers as well as the LDS steering system with variable ratio.

The Huracan Spyder is powered by a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 engine packing 610 PS at 8,250 rpm and 560 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. The unit is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch “Lamborghini Doppia Frizione” (LDF) gearbox, which channels the output to all four wheels through the company’s new fully electronic all-wheel-drive system.

As far as performance is concerned, the supercar is able to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 10.2 seconds. The supercar’s top speed is rated at 324 km/h.

The Huracan Spyder also benefits from the new ANIMA management software – Italian word for “soul” and an acronym for Adaptive Network Intelligent MAnagement. The software offers three selectable modes – Strada, Sport, and Corsa – that alter steering response, suspension stiffness, as well as transmission and engine mappings.

Braking power is provided by a set of carbon ceramic brakes, measuring 380 mm with six-piston calipers at the front, and 356 mm with four-piston calipers at the rear. These feature hydraulic dual-circuit system with vacuum servo unit.

Official pricing for the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 has yet to be announced.
