Hyundai IONIQ - Teaser - 2

Following its IONIQ silhouette teaser last week, Hyundai has released new renderings of its exterior and interior, and revealed some details on its first hybrid vehicle.

From the exterior rendering, we can see a contoured body with slopping roofline said to minimize wind resistance and airflow. The front, according to Hyundai, features its signature hexagonal grille flanked by distinctive new headlamps featuring integrated ‘C’-position lights.

The sketch of its cabin shows a smooth, elegant and clutter-free interior said to be an efficient use of interior space and a clear, logical layout of its control functions with simple and stylish eco-friendly surface materials.

Hyundai also boasts that it will be the world’s first car to offer three efficient and ultra-low-emission powertrains: full electric, plug-in gasoline/electric hybrid, and gasoline/electric hybrid.

The IONIQ is said to get a world premiere in Korea in January, followed by an appearance at the Geneva International Motor Show and the New York Auto Show.
