TVR Sports Car

British sports car maker TVR is making a comeback and to get the ball rolling and potential customers excited, the company has previewed its upcoming sports coupe in a rendering, which is a reworked version of a sketch published by Autocar earlier this year.

In case you didn’t know, TVR signed a partnership with Cosworth Engineering and Gordon Murray (designer of the legendary McLaren F1 road car) in June this year to design and build its first new car since the Sagaris in 2006.

In July, TVR revealed that order books were open and those interested could place a £5000 deposit for the new model. Then in the following month, the company announced that all units allocated for 2018 have been accounted for – which is pretty impressive for a car that no one has seen. The sports car is expected to come out somewhere in 2017, so there’s plenty of time left.

As for the car itself, while exact specifications are yet to surface, the company’s official website states that it will be “British in every way” and “true to TVR’s DNA and heritage”. The car will be a two-seater sports coupe/convertible with “breathtaking appearance and performance”, which we will not deny judging by the image above. It will also have a V8 engine up front, with a manual transmission and rear-wheel-drive. The company also promises “incredible value for money”.

Sounds promising but it remans to be seen if the automaker can actually pull this off. For now, we’ll just have to do the ol’ wait-and-see thing.
