2017 Ford F-150 Raptor SuperCrew 03

Ford has taken the stage at the ongoing Detroit Auto Show to unveil the new F-150 Raptor SuperCrew, essentially a four-door iteration of the current Raptor SuperCab that was introduced last year.

As such, the Blue Oval’s newest truck will come with four full-size doors and a bigger cabin space with better comfort for the rear passengers. The truck is now bigger as well – Ford says it’s 15 cm wider than the standard F-150, while its wheelbase has been extended by 30 cm over the Raptor SuperCab’s.

Other than that, the Raptor SuperCrew boasts a purpose-built fully boxed frame, combined with its first dual exhaust and new 17-inch wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich All-Terrain KO2 tyres designed for off-road performance. Like its two-door counterpart, the SuperCrew is also equipped with FOX Racing Shox with bigger canisters and longer suspension travel.

Elsewhere, it’s pretty much the same. Power comes from a 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost engine, which paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission. The truck comes with the new Terrain Management System with six modes, new transfer case and the optional Torsen front differential, among others. It will be built Ford’s Dearborn facility and go on sale in the US and Canada later in the year.
