Yamaha NMax Introduction 01

Hong Leong Yamaha Motor Sdn. Bhd. (HLYM) ushered in the year of the fire monkey with the preview of the new NMax scooter at the company’s annual Chinese New Year Dealers’ Appreciation Dinner at Genting Highland.

Developed based on the concept of “City Commuter with Global Prestige”, the NMax features a familiar body styling that reflects the Max family models such as the Tmax and X-Max that are popular in Europe. The scooter boasts LED lights all around, combined with a bright LCD instrument panel and a spacious floorboard.

The NMax is motivated by a 155 cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) technology. The unit churns out 11.1 kW at 8,000 rpm and 14.4 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm, delivered to the rear wheel via CVT. The engine features Yamaha’s Blue Core technology, which promises enhanced combustion, reduced loss of power and more efficient cooling.
