BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car 02

When it comes to beautifying something that’s already magnificent the way it is, you can put your money on the BMW M Division. As the official safety car provider for the MotoGP, the performance arm of the German automaker has cooked up the new BMW M2 MotoGP Safety Car for the upcoming season.

In similar fashion to the M4 safety car, itself based on the regular M4, the M2 safety car is armed with a slew of aerodynamic components made of carbon fibre including the front and side sill attachments, rear diffuser, rear spoiler and mirror caps. The car gets an LED strobe light bar on the roof, along with blue LEDs in the front grille and red reversing lights.

The car is decked out in white with BMW M traditional stripes of red, blue and light blue, and finished off with gold paint. The cabin adopts a roll cage, Recaro bucket seats with six-point harnesses, a fire extinguisher and other bits that are actually available in the M Performance Parts catalogue.

Whether or not the engine is tweaked is unknown but the M2 safety car does get the M Performance flap silencer system that operates in either Sport or Track mode. The car rides on adjustable M coil-spring suspension, supplemented by carbon ceramic brakes and Michelin Cup tyres.
