The upcoming series of Top Gear may lack the presence of the delightful trio of Clarkson, Hammond and May, but it still has some pretty exciting materials in store for its loyal fans. One of them is a spin-off show called Extra Gear, which will feature behind-the-scenes content including interviews and exclusive footage for the first time.
Set to be hosted by Rory Reid, one of the TV show’s new recruit, Extra Gear is a 30-minute segment that will be made available immediately after episodes of the main show. It will be broadcast on BBC Three and distributed on BBC Worldwide for the global audience.
Commenting on topgear.com, Reid said the show will give fans a chance to “get a peak behind the curtain.”
“I’m looking forward to showing them how the show is made and what goes on behind the scenes, giving viewers a different perspective on some of the coolest cars on the planet.”
The new Top Gear show is expected to return in May. It will be hosted Chris Evans as the main presenter, alongside Chris Harris, Matt LeBlanc, Eddie Jordan, Sabine Schmitz, and Rory Reid. Of course, joining them will be The Stig.
