Lego Technic Porsche 911 GT3 RS

The Porsche 911 GT3 RS is a sweet forbidden fruit, but with a price tag of almost RM2 million, the winged sports car remains a fantasy to many enthusiasts. That said, with just over RM1,000, you can own Lego’s new 911 GT3 RS 1:18 scale model that is impressive in its own way.

Produced in collaboration with the German manufacturer, Lego’s latest Technic set is more about the building experience than enjoying the design details that go into it. The set has a total of 2,704 pieces, which form a realistic interpretation of the car measuring 17 cm high, 57 cm long and 25 cm wide when completed.

As you can see in the video, the packaging comprises a set of exclusive wheels, a thick collector’s book including the history of Lego Technic and Porsche GT cars plus building instructions, a collection of authentic stickers, as well as several separates boxes for the pieces.

The replica 911 GT3 RS comes in orange, and has detailed headlights, tail lights, brake calipers, and red suspension, as with the real deal. The cockpit is accessible, and some of the parts such as the gearbox and steering wheel are working. Apart from the front compartment that stores a cute driver’s suitcase, you can also pop the rear lid to take a look at the detailed flat-six engine, which has moving pistons.

Other details on the Lego Technic 911 GT3 RS include an adjustable rear spoiler, detailed seating, RS centre caps, and a unique model serial number in the glove compartment.

Lego says the 911 GT3 RS scale model will be available in Europe in June, followed by the rest of the world in August.
