Hong Leong Yamaha Motor (HLYM) has announced the availability of the new Yamaha XV950 Cafe Racer. Inspired by the cool Yard Built specials created for the brand by the world’s leading custom builders, the cruiser is aimed at today’s generation who are looking for a raw and authentic bike that’s ready to customise.
Setting itself apart from the XV950 Bolt on which it’s based, the XV950 Cafe Racer comes with a slew of visual enhancements including a front cowling, aluminium side panels, as well as a single seat design including a cover for the rear seat. The bike comes in a special black-and-yellow colour scheme that pays homage to the brand’s 60th anniversary.
On the specifications front, everything is pretty much the same. Like the Bolt, the XV950 Cafe Racer is powered by an air-cooled 942 cc V-twin engine that churns out 52.1 PS at 5,500 rpm and 79.5 Nm of maximum torque at 3,000 rpm. Drive is sent to the rear wheel via a five-speed gearbox and final belt drive.
Elsewhere, the cruiser is equipped with piggyback-style gas rear shocks, wave style 298mm discs with ABS, double cradle frame, and 12-spoke cast alloy wheels.
According to HLYM, the XV950 Cafe Racer is fully imported and comes with a price tag of RM55,000 (including GST). It is now available at authorised Yamaha dealerships.
