An exciting find was spotted in a Lowyat forum today – a clear spyshot of the upcoming Perodua sedan, codenamed D63D, sans camouflage.
Riding on the Axia’s platform, the sedan has the Perodua look about it, although with some unique never before seen features on a Perodua, such as the headlights as well as the front grille.
The D63D, which is expected to launch either late this year or early next year, is expected to be powered by Perodua’s 1.0 and 1.3-litre engines, paired with four-speed automatic transmission or five-speed manual.
Perodua has begun to be associated with the sedan segment when it first introduced its concept sedan model at the Kuala Lumpur International Motorshow 2010 (KLIMS10), the Perodua Bezza, but which proved to be a difficult concept to realise.
At the next KLIMS, KLIMS13, it showed off its next sedan concept model, the Buddyz, which was a more practical model to be put into production, signifying the automaker’s commitment to enter the segment.
Not long after, there was some hubbub when a supposed brochure of Perodua’s new sedan started circulating on social media, but that proved to be a fake.
Following that, there was no more talk on the matter until early this year when Perodua themselves announced it would be coming out with its own sedan model.
