BMW Group Malaysia has introduced its second locally assembled hybrid vehicle with eDrive Technology in the country, the BMW 330e, which is also the 12th model to be locally assembled at BMW Group Malaysia’s Assembly Facilities at the Kulim Hi-Tech Park.
The 330e is powered by a two-litre four-cylinder combustion engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology and a synchronous BMW eDrive electric motor integrated in an eight-speed Steptronic transmission, combined with a permanent rear-wheel drive system and eDrive technology.
The petrol engine generates a maximum output of 252hp and peak torque of 420Nm, with a combined fuel consumption of 2.1L/100km, while its electric motor delivers 88hp, capable of reaching a top speed of 120km/h and with a range of 37km on full electric mode.
Together, the new BMW 330e completes the 0 to 100km/h sprint in just 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 225km/h.
The high-voltage battery of the new BMW 330e offers a gross energy capacity of 7.6 kWh and can be topped up with energy from any domestic power socket.
Full charge by the conventional domestic power socket would take 5 hours, while BMW’s Wallbox Pro offers a faster charging time of 3.5 hours.
As part of BMW 360° ELECTRIC, customers are offered the ChargeNow service, which consists of a ChargeNow card that grants straightforward access to partner charging stations like ChargEV, offered through BMW Group Malaysia’s partnership with Malaysian Green Technology Corporation (GreenTech Malaysia).
ChargEV stations are operational in 19 strategic locations throughout Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Kedah, Melaka, and Johor.
The new BMW 330e is available in the exterior colours of Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey, Mediterranean Blue and Alpine White with Leather Dakota Black upholstery.
Its retail price OTR without insurance, with BMW Group Malaysia’s five years unlimited mileage warranty, free scheduled service programme and BMW Tyre Warranty Programme is RM248,800, after knocking off RM120,000 of its original price of RM368,800 via the government approved hybrid incentive.
