Boon Siew Honda Sdn Bhd (BSH) is the first motorcycle manufacturer to have Energy Efficient Vehicles (EEV)-certified models, after obtaining the certification from the Road Transport Department (JPJ) for four of its models earlier this month.

The four motorcycles are from BSH’s CKD model line-up – the EX5 Fi, Future Fi, Wave Dash (Fi) and Wave Alpha.

Out of the four, the EX5 Fi, Future Fi and Wave Dash have a fuel consumption of 1.8L/100km, which is 18% better than the EEV’s regulation benchmark of 2.2L/100km for motorcycles between 101cc and 150xx displacement.

“While the Malaysian government aims to make 85% of the total vehicles production to be EEVs by 2020, today, 83% of BSH’s production (January to July) are EEVs, coming from the certified four models.

“BSH is committed to continuously introduce new models that meet the EEV standards for the Malaysian market following the government’s policy,” said BSH in a statement.
