MAN Truck and Bus (M) Sdn Bhd (MTBM) showcased its MAN TGS, which has been specifically optimised for long-haul transport and logistics operations, at the inaugural Johor Bus, Trucks and Components Expo (JBTC EXPO) 2016 organised by the Johor Sand and Granite Lorry Operators’ Association.

Held at Johor Bahru’s EXPO Danga City Mall, the JBTC EXPO which featured a concurrent Road Safety Awareness campaign, brought together a host of transportation and logistics industry players who are actively involved in the south Malaysia market, especially with the new and upcoming projects driven by Iskandar Malaysia in Johor and the Malacca Gateway.

During the expo, MTBM presented the MAN TGS 33.480 6×4, the ideal vehicle for heavy-duty distribution transport, with its powerful engines, unrivalled payload and unique ergonomics.

Characterised by its excellent performance in national and close-to-the-border long-haul transport and distribution, the truck comes with a permanent all-wheel drive to ensure traction off-road and on inclines.

It also comes with a hill-climbing brake that prevents rolling back when driving on inclines.

“Forward-thinking cost management is absolutely essential for transporters and we want to help our customers focus on reducing total cost of ownership,” said MTBM managing director Hartmut Mueller.

Mueller added that Johor is an important location for MAN as it serves as the transit point for many of its logistics and transportation customers on the northern to southern route or those enroute to Singapore.

“With our service center strategically located at Johor Bahru, our customers can have easy access to maintenance or repair services, so that their trucks can be back on the road as soon as possible.

“In the unlikely event of a breakdown of their vehicle, they can also call our 24 hour emergency toll-free number of 1-800-228-626 and help will arrive immediately”, he said.
