With unstable oil prices and rising costs of living, people are looking towards alternative modes of travel such as riding public transportation, cycling, and carpooling.

However, a man in Kazakhstan seemed to have taken this to the next level, beating rush hour via an unconventional mode of transport – riding an ostrich.

A video of the ostrich rider speeding past cars stuck in a long line of traffic has emerged on YouTube, caught through a car’s dashcam.

Local police are reportedly investigating the matter and are viewing CCTV footage to try to verify whether the ostrich was really on the road, as several have questioned whether or not the video is real.
