Style and performance are two aspects of a car that go hand in hand – one without the other would just make the car feel incomplete, or even inadequate.

The Ford Focus has both in one package, with a dynamic silhouette that makes heads turn combined with impressive performance that puts the thrill in driving.

Its aerodynamic, sleek exterior exudes an image of speed, with a front face that gives it a more aggressive look especially when combined with the streamlined silhouette.

In the Winning Blue exterior colour which we got, this car is guaranteed to turn some heads on the road as you drive by.

On the inside, the leather seats are comfortable, especially with the manually adjustable lumbar support on the driver’s seat, which can give added comfort on long drives.

When we got in, we took some time to enjoy the comfort of the leather seats and the soft feel of the steering wheel.

Interior space was impressive, with plenty of headroom and legroom not only for the driver, but also for all passengers, front and rear.

There are also plenty of cup holders and cubby holes in the car where you can put your SmartTag, Touch ‘n Go, sunglasses, access passes or anything else you would like to have handy in the car within your reach, and even spaces where you can keep things safely hidden.

The first thing we did after getting comfortable behind the wheel was test out the car’s auto-parking function just to see how well it worked.

Although the parking space detection was a little bit slow, we were rather impressed by the car’s ability to find an empty space and adjust itself into the space properly using the sensors all around the car.

Its sensors also came in handy on regular parking and manoeuvring, as the length of the car may hinder visibility in tighter spaces.

The Focus has excellent pickup and fast acceleration, with power coming instantly as soon as we step on the accelerator, and we also felt the gear shifting was incredibly smooth, barely feeling the shifts.

Noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) levels were minimal even on long distance drives, making this a car suitable for daily city driving as well as cross-country journeys.

We drove non-stop from Kuala Lumpur to Mantin in Negeri Sembilan, and we found the journey was not tiring at all; we arrived as fresh as when we arrived, a testament to the comfort of the drive.

On the highway, we also tried out the car’s sports mode which really gave us the joy of driving – the additional power that entered was impressive, and made a satisfying car even more satisfying.

The car’s low stance made it feel stable even when taking corners at high speeds, with barely any body roll felt, making us feel confident in driving it on both highways and trunk roads.

The Ford Focus is one of the most satisfying drives we have ever had; not only does it look good, it drives great too.

Whether on trunk roads, city streets or highways, this car handles well, is completely comfortable and boasts a smooth drive, and on top of all that, it’s also an attractive ride which will get some attention your way.
