Chevrolet has unveiled the latest generation Colorado, boasting new interior and exterior design as well as better performance and safety, available in 2.8L and 2.5L variants.

The upgraded 2.8L Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine with variable geometry turbocharger (VGT) produces 193hp and 500Nm of torque and the upgraded 2.5L Duramax four-cylinder turbo-diesel generates 180hp and 440Nm of torque, while the high value 2.5L Duramax four-cylinder turbodiesel engine (FGT) is still available on lower specification models matched with a manual transmission.

Safety-wise, the Colorado is equipped with active and passive features including traction control system (TCS), panic brake assist (PBA), electronic stability control (ESC), hill descent control (HDC) and hill start assist (HSA), depending on variants, in addition to two front airbags and driver’s knee airbag.

Besides the safety features, the Colorado is also equipped with driver assistance systems such as lane departure warning (LDW), forward collision alert (FCA), front and rear park assist sensors and tyre pressure monitoring system, depending on variant.

The vehicle has also been fitted with revised body mounts across the range and new engine mounts, resulting in lower noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) inside the cabin.

It also features a chassis with increased rigidity so it is tougher and more stable, while the new cabin mounts provide better isolation between the cabin and the chassis, further improving NVH, as well as providing more solid driving dynamics by reducing movement between the cabin and the chassis.

The Colorado’s exterior has also been improved with a new front end, including a new sporty front fascia, grille, hood and lights and new slim LED daytime running lights.

“The design has improved exponentially with a lot of attention to details that will make this new Colorado a game changer in its segment in Malaysia.

“We are excited to see how great the engineering design for recent new Chevrolet models has developed and this is a positive sign for the brand to move forward in this country,” said Naza World Group of Companies group executive chairman Datuk Wira SM Faisal Tan Sri SM Nasimuddin.
