The Haval M4 has been revamped and is now known as the H1, after manufacturer Great Wall Motors Co Ltd rebranded Haval in an effort to boost its sales internationally as it aspires to conquer the international market, especially the Asean market.
The compact SUV comes in three variants – Comfort, Premium and Elite – and the selling price remains unchanged from before at RM61,950, RM67,950 and RM74,950 OTR with insurance respectively, and comes with a seven-year warranty.
It comes in six colours – Titanium White, Sky Silver, Fashionable Orange, Pearl Black, OCean Blue and Jazz Red.
The brand introduced a “Buy Back Guarantee” scheme to assure its vehicle owners receive 50% of its resale value should it be resold to the company within five years.
The H1 is slightly different from the M4 in that is is furnished with a sporty chrome grille and the Haval logo is embedded on the steering wheel, car boot and seats.
Go Auto CEO Ahmad Azam Dato’ Sulaiman said with the rebranding, the company hopes to strengthen the brand locally.
The company was the first in Malaysia to be awarded with car manufacturing license for energy efficient vehicles (EEVs), and both the H1 and H2 have received EEV certification from the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
Go Auto currently has 24 2S and 3S Centres around the country, 80% of which are 3S, with three belonging to Go Auto and the rest being franchises.
The company targets to have increase this number to 30 by this year, as well as one more branch.
Meanwhile, Go Auto is looking at exports to Myanmar, Philippines and some other South East Asian countries which it is not able to disclose at the moment.
Its sales target for the year is 9,000 units inclusive of exports, while export of the H12 is expected to begin this May.
The company’s focus this year is to build up sales, retain quality and remain competitive in the country and the region.
