Official distributor for Peugeot in Malaysia Nasim Sdn Bhd today launched its first models for the year, the 208 Puretech and 2008 SUV Puretech, priced at RM89,888 and RM189,888 OTR respectively.
The Puretech engine produces 110hp and 205Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed automatic transmission with Quickshift technology, and promises efficient fuel consumption with a claimed 4.2L/100km which translates to about 1,190km on a full tank.
The vehicles are also fitted with Stop Start technology which is claimed to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15% in dense urban traffic and also promises 40% quicker reignition.
The 208 Puretech boasts a sharper, more precise and muscular line alongside a fully integrated wider grille and thicker chrome finisher combined with separate front foglamps, new front headlamps, 3D LED rear lamps and an LED light signature as well as 16-inch alloy wheels.
The 2008 SUV Puretech features a new robust vertical front grille and 17-inch Hydre Antra dual tone rims, as well as a newly designed lighting signature consisting of LED daytime running lights, front fog lamp with cornering assist lighting and 3D rear lamps.
Interior features in both vehicles include a seven-inch HD multifunction colour touchscreen, head up instrument panel, Arkhamys 3D audio system with six speakers, USB and Bluetooth, digital dual zone climate control via touchscreen, versatile modular seats, generous cabin storage and cargo space, while the 2008 SUV Puretech features a panoramic roof with blue mood LED lighting.
Safety-wise, both are equipped with six airbags and an electronic safety program (ESP) featuring anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake distribution (EBD), emergency brake assist (EBA), anti-skid regulation (ASR), dynamic stability control (DSC), hill start assist, Isofix and immobiliser.
The 208 Puretech comes in Digital White, Virtual Blue, Nera Black, Atomic Orange, Rouge Red and Aluminium, while the 2008 SUV Puretech comes in Digital White, Ultimate Red, Emerald and Artense Grey.
Both models come with Nasim’s new five-year Peace of Mind warranty, valid for a total of five years or 120,000km whichever comes first, and first 100 units registered will also receive three years free service.
The company targets sales of 2,500 units for the 208 Puretech and 1,100 units of the 2008 SUV Puretech this year, in combination making up 44% of this year’s total sales target.
Meanwhile, Nasim said it is slowing down stock of the current generation 208 GTi and is planning to reintroduce the model in the near future, although it did not divulge any details.
