Perodua said approximately 3,000 bookings have been received for the facelifted Axia since it opened orders for the model on January 13.

“This is a good sign as the bookings were captured within seven days (since bookings opened).

“We will ensure that delivery of our new Axia facelift is delivered to their owners as soon as possible,” said Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd managing director Dato’ Dr Zahari Husin.

Perodua has sold 214,700 Axia since it was launched in September 2014, with 85,900 units sold in 2016 alone.

The new Axia facelift is now available at all 181 Perodua sales showrooms nationwide.

It now comes with a new VVT-I engine that is claimed to boost the efficiency to 22.5km/L in Eco-Driving mode for manual transmission, compared with the current 21.6km/L.

The engine replacement will include the entire current Axia line-up.

The Peninsular Malaysia price for the new Axia variant begins from RM24,900 for the Standard-E (manual) to RM42,900 for the Advance (auto).

The company launched the facelifted Axia at its MYPerodua Nation Carnival in at Aeon Shah Alam outdoor parking which starts today until January 22.

It also presented the lucky grand prize winner of its “Test Drive and Win” SMS contest which ran from October to December last year Law Soon Hee who received a Bezza 1.3L Advance at the carnival.

The contest required a potential buyer to test drive any Perodua model; answer a simple question and SMS the answer for a chance to win spectacular prizes.

It also awarded five day five night trips to 30 other contest winners.

Perodua is also giving away an Axia as one of its lucky draw prizes in the carnival.

The event will also feature live concerts and celebrity appearances fit for the entire family.
