Sime Darby Auto Performance (SDAP) today unveiled the second generation Porsche Panamera, available in two variants, Panamera and Panamera 4S, priced at RM890,000 and RM1.1 million respectively, without registration, road tax and insurance.
The Panamera is powered by a 3.0L V6 turbo engine with direct petrol injection that generates 330hp at between 5,400rpm and 6,400rpm and peak torque of 450Nm at 1,340rpm to 4,300rpm, matched to an eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
The Panamera 4S is powered by a 2.9L V6 biturbo engine which generates 440hp at 5,650rpm to 6,600rpm and maximum torque of 550Nm at between 1,750rpm and 5,500rpm, also paired with the eight-speed Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
The Panamera goes from 0 to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 264km/h, while the Panamera 4S reaches 100km/h from a standstill in 4.3 seconds and has a top speed of 289km/h.
The Panamera has a rear wheel drive powertrain, while the Panamera 4S utilises Porsche Traction Management (PTM), which is an active all-wheel drive with electronically variable, map-controlled multi-plate clutch for variable torque distribution between front and rear axle.
Standard equipment on both variants includes matt black side window strips, LED main headlights, four-point LED daytime running lights, LED front light modules with position lights and indicators, a driving light assistant with Automatic Coming Home lights and ambient lighting in the mirror housings, rain sensor for the windscreen wipers and an electrically opening and closing tailgate as well as ParkAssist.
Equipment options include panoramic tilt roof, massage seats, ambient lighting and a 3D high-end sound system from Burmester.
Design-wise, it features long, dynamic proportions, pronounced shoulders, athletic flanks and a fast roof line that is 20mm lower at the rear, creating a stylistic link to the 911.
It is 5,049mm long, 1,937mm wide and 1,423mm tall and a wheelbase of 2,950mm, with a longer rear overhang and shorter front overhang with front wheels shifted further forward compared to its predecessor.
The new side body is made entirely of aluminium with redesigned side windows, while most prominent components identifying the rear body are its three-dimensional LED rear lights with four-point brake lights, interconnected by narrow LED strip.
Inside, black panel surfaces and interactive displays combine a clear and intuitive user interface, while classic hard keys and conventional instruments have been reduced significantly, being replaced by touch-sensitive panels and individually configurable displays.
Like all models sold under SDAP, the Panamera comes with a four-year warranty and free maintenance package which includes complimentary service, parts and labour.
