The Renault Captur will now be locally assembled for the domestic market, available at a new price of RM109,000, OTR without insurance, inclusive of GST compared to the previous price of RM117,200.

It is now EEV-certified, and is available in a new two-toned Flame Red body with Diamond Black roof, and customers can also opt for interior leather seats at additional cost.

It will be available for sale from tomorrow onwards, with RM11,000 rebates offered to the first 100 customers to place an order.

TC Euro Cars (TCEC) will also be showcasing the car at LG, Oval Concourse, 1 Utama Shopping Centre from tomorrow to April 23.

The Captur is being built at Tan Chong Motor Assemblies (TCMA) plant in Segambut, and is Renault’s third locally-assembled model in Malaysia.

“Malaysia is the only other country besides Renault’s facility in Spain to assemble the Captur and proves a significant step forward in cementing Renault’s continued commitment in Malaysia.

“We are confident this new milestone will help propel the competitiveness of this model here within its segment,” said Renault Asia-Pacific Region vice president, supply chain Kim Taejoon.

The Captur is powered by a turbocharged 1.2L TCe 120 engine which generates 118hp and 190Nm peak torque, mated to a six-speed efficient dual clutch (EDC) transmission.

Standard features and safety equipment include auto headlights and rain sensors, MediaNav with 7″ touchscreen, AUX, USB, Bluetooth, navigation and reverse camera, keyless entry and start, eco mode which promises fuel efficiency of up to 10%, four airbags, electronic stability control (ESC) with traction control and hill start assist.

It’s available in four colour options – Flame Red body with Diamond Black roof, Arizona Orange body with Diamond Black roof, Pacific Blue body with Ivory roof and Ivory body with Diamond Black roof.

The locally-assembled Captur comes with a five-year manufacturer’s warranty with unlimited mileage.
