President of the United States of America Donald Trump has vowed to put an end to Germany’s substantial car exports to the US, according to a report on Petrol Head.
He said this at a NATO summit in Brussels with top EU leaders, where multiple German and now English-language news outlets reported the story.
German newspaper Der Spiegel cited “a circle of participants” at the summit, who claim Trump had harsh words to say about what he claims is Germany’s trade imbalance with the US.
Allegedly, the president had said, “The Germans are bad, very bad…look at the millions of cars they sell in the US. We will stop this.”
The quote has been translated from German, but some reporters from German newspaper Der Spiegel have reported the quote translated into English.
Wow. “The Germans are bad, very bad”, Trump said to EU boss Juncker. “Look at all the cars they’re selling in the US.We’re gonna stop that.” https://t.co/Iwdg3LFy7h
