Malaysia today has welcomed the all-new Jazz, becoming the only country outside Japan to introduce Honda’s new advanced Sport Hybrid i-DCD system.

Priced at RM87,500, the new Jazz Hybrid is also the only Sport Hybrid in Malaysia priced below RM90,000.

Besides the hybrid variant, the Jazz is also available in three petrol variants – S, E and V – priced at RM74,800, RM81,000 and RM88,400 respectively, OTR with insurance.

The hybrid variant is powered by a new 1.5L DOHC i-VTEC engine combining seven-speed dual clutch transmission (DCT) with Integrated High Power Motor, and the new hybrid system is powered by a Lithium-Ion battery with 1.5 times its energy capacity which is 50% more powerful compared to its predecessor, the Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system, although it is -5.6% more compact in size.

It also received some enhancements unique to the hybrid model, such as the Shift by Wire Gear and 3D speed meter design (multi-information display) which displays a variety of information such as energy flow, sport meter, fuel economy, drive info, customisation and eco display, as well as cruise control.

Meanwhile, the petrol variants are powered by a 1.5L i-VTEC engine coupled with Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT), developed under Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology.

The top of the line V variant comes with dual tone colour alloy wheels, paddle shifters and cruise control, as well as half-leather seats while the E variant received an upgrade to touch panel auto air-conditioning, and both variants carry a new 6.8″ display audio, LED daytime running lights (DRL) and reverse camera.

The new chrome front grille, new front and rear bumper design, push start button and smart entry as well as ECON button is standard across all variants.

The new Jazz retains its ULTRA Seats with four modes – Utility, Long, Tall and Refresh – for space maximisation for the driver, passengers and goods, a feature unique to only the Jazz.

Safety-wise, it carries a five-star Asean NCAP safety rating, with brake assist (BA) and anti-lock braking system (ABS) available across all variants, while vehicle stability assist (VSA), emergency stop signal (ESS) and hill start assist (HSA) are available in all but the S variant.

The V variant also gets six airbags, while the E variant receives four airbags and the S variant has two airbags.
