With the upcoming Aidilfitri exodus out of the city centre and everyone going back to their hometowns, there are bound to be incidents of traffic offences, mostly due to impatience on the roads.

In light of this, the Road Transport Department (JPJ) yesterday has introduced a special WhatsApp line for the public to report any such offences witnessed.

Road users can send videos and photos to the number 011-51115252 through Whatsapp along with location and time of offence.

JPJ hopes with the cooperation of the public, the department can take immediate action on those who violate traffic rules.

Members of the public can also make reports through its email at aduantrafik@jpj.gov.my.

Meanwhile, the department also reminded road users on seven main offences that will be taken to court during itsĀ Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri from June 18 to July 2.

The offences are running red lights, changing lanes on double lines, using mobile phones while driving, driving on the emergency lane, speeding, not wearing seat belts, and driving continuously on the right lane.
