The Road Transport Department has announced Automatic Enforcement Cameras (AES) will be installed in seven new locations which have been identified as accident-prone hot spots.

The locations are at KM 146.8 and KM 151.4 in Pagoh, KM 299.9 in Kampar, Perak and KM 96.3 in Kuala Muda, Kedah on the North-South Expressway (NSE), and KM 17 of the Gua Musang-Kuala Krai road in Kelantan, and KM 256.1 and KM 288.6 in Terengganu on the East Coast Expressway.

Besides that, four more AES cameras have also been installed at traffic light junctions, namely on KM 26 of Jalan Ipoh-Kuala Kangsar (Kg Kerdah intersection), Jalan Pasir Putih-Ipoh (Jalan Temenggung, Jalan King intersection), Jalan Ipoh, Kuala Lumpur (Jalan Perhentian, Sentul intersection) and Jalan Klang Lama, Kuala Lumpur (Jalan Sepadu intersection).

Summonses issued under AES are fixed at RM150, and those who fail to pay will be blacklisted and will not be able to renew their driving licences.
