Hyundai-Sime Darby Motors (HSDM) has launched the latest Tucson 2.0L CRDI diesel, a turbocharged powertrain, priced at RM15,788 OTR without insurance.
It is powered by a 2.0L R-series CRDI Diesel, which generates 176hp and 400Nm peak torque at 1,750rpm to 2,750rpm which takes it to a top speed of 201km/h, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
New features in this variant include LED Headlamps with static bending lights, Auto Hold function which automatically holds the brakes steady once the vehicle has come to a complete stop and a smart powered tailgate which opens at the approach of the key-holder.
Optional accessories such as three leather packages with colour options of black, red or white, body kit and 19-inch rims are also made available with the Tucson 2.0L CRDI Diesel.
With this addition, the Tucson now comes in three variants, the 2.0L Elegance, priced RM126,188 and the 1.6L Turbo GDI priced at RM145,688, OTR without insurance, along with the 2.0L CRDI Diesel.
The 2.0L Elegance variant has also received minor upgrades such as fog lamps and daytime running lights, while all Tucson variants have been granted Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status from the Malaysia government.
Safety features of the Tucson include the Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, Hillstart Assist Control (HAC), Downhill Brake Control (DBC) and the Electric Parking Brake (EPB) with Automatic Vehicle Hold feature, and the 1.6L T-GDI and 2.0L CRDI Diesel are fully equipped with six airbags.
Designed based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design theme, the Tucson employs refined aesthetics with sculpted body forms and sporty contours for an athletic, bold and striking appearance.
The front of the All-New Tucson is dominated by the Hyundai signature hexagonal front grille, which connects to the headlamps with LED Positioning Lamps to create a distinctive identity.
A wing-shaped appearance to the front bumper, which incorporates the LED daytime running lights, gives the car a unique style and provides a visual reference for the car’s wide track.
On the inside, a premium wrapped instrument panel is offered, with extra-wide instrument panel contours, while a stitched, soft-touch pad is located near the driver’s right knee, and interior touch points have been upgraded with premium, soft-touch materials and all interior switchgear have a more refined feel during operation.
All Tucson variants are entitled to 50,000km free service with three years validity.
HSDM offers a five-year or 300,000km warranty on all its new passenger vehicles, while a 24-hour road assist service is also now available to new and existing Hyundai vehicles.
