Mercedes-Benz Malaysia (MBM) has introduced the locally-assembled GLC 200, following the successful launch of its premium SUV range last year, priced at RM288,888 OTR without insurance.

With the introduction of this new variant, the brand hopes to underline its claim as leader in the premium SUV segment in Malaysia as well as provide a wider variety to its customers.

It is powered by a 2.0-litre four in-line engine, which generates 184hp and 300Nm maximum torque, paired with a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission, which can take it from 0 to 100km/h in 8.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 210km/h.

The GLC 200 is equipped with the OFF-ROAD Exterior design which underscores the vehicle’s SUV characteristics with rugged design features in chrome, and the radiator trim boasts an integral Mercedes star and two louvres in matt iridium silver with chrome inserts.

Other highlights include 19-inch five-spoke light-alloy wheels, chrome-plated simulated underguard and exhaust system with two visible, chrome-plated tailpipe trims as well as anodized roof rails and LED High Performance headlights and taillights.

Its interior features the Exclusive line, including upholstery in ARTICO man-made leather/fabric, ARTICO-covered dashboard with contrasting topstitching in three colours, seats featuring an exclusive upholstery layout, wood trim in high-gloss brown line structure lime and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel.

Meanwhile, the brand also unveiled the special edition Mercedes-AMG GLE 43 OrangeArt Edition, priced at RM718,888 OTR without insurance.

This edition features extravagant design highlights including striking expressive decals in orange on the front apron, 21-inch AMG five-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss black and rim flange painted in orange.

The SUV boasts orange highlights in conjunction with selected features such as AMG Line exterior, Night Package and exclusive upholstery variant in nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre, while for the paint finish there is a choice of black, polar white, obsidian black, iridium silver, selenite grey or designo diamond white bright, and the headlamps of the Intelligent Light System feature a black LED ring.

Striking contrasts in orange are also a defining feature inside the OrangeArt Edition, with interior highlights that include sports seats upholstered in black nappa leather/DINAMICA microfibre with orange piping and grey topstitching which is exclusive to the OrangeArt Edition, along with floor mats with AMG lettering and piping in orange and door centre panels with black DINAMICA microfibre and topstitching in grey round off the inviting spectacle.

The sporty character is additionally underscored by the three-spoke multifunction steering wheel in black nappa leather, aluminium trim with light longitudinal grain and the sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with rubber studs.

Under the hood is a 3.0-litre V6 engine that produces 390hp and 520Nm peak torque, which takes it from 0 to 100km/h in 5.7 seconds before reaching a top speed of 250km/h.
