UD Trucks, together with its sole distributor Tan Chong Industrial Equipment (TCIE) today launched its all-new medium-duty truck, the Croner, which has already gotten 50 bookings from 30 customers.
This launch follows its worldwide launch in Thailand in March, with market launches in Dubai and South Africa, and it will also be launched in four countries in Latin America next month.
It comes in two gross vehicle weight (GVW) models, the LKE and PKE, which offer a wide range of configurations to suit specific demands of various industries.
The PKE42R variant is powered by the 7.7-litre UD Trucks GH8E 250 EC01 diesel engine which generates 250hp at 2,200rpm and peak torque of 950Nm at 1,100rpm to 1,700rpm while the LKE42R variant is powered by a 5.1-litre UD Trucks GH5E 210 EC01 diesel engine which produces 210hp at 2,200rpm and 825Nm at 1,200rpm to 1,600rpm, both mated to a six-speed synchronised direct drive transmission.
The Croner was engineered to be more robust and versatile to minimise downtime which can increase efficiency and productivity for customers.
UD Trucks said the Croner is also one of its most fuel efficient trucks, combining the GHE engine series, new automatic transmission and new aerodynamic cab design.
A full air braking system which includes anti-lock braking system (ABS) with reliable S-cam drum brakes is offered across all variants, equipped with electronic brake distribution (EBD), and the PKE model is available with air suspension as an option.
Customers who purchase UD Trucks will also be supported by UD Extra Mile Support services which includes UD Genuine Service and Parts, UD Driver Training and UD Trust Service Agreements for customers.
The all-new Croner also comes factory-fitted with UD Trucks’ own remote monitoring system, UD Telematics, which keeps UD customers updated on their fleets in real-time format, with information including location tracking, fuel reports and vehicle health.
In conjunction with the launch, TCIE will be offering attractive rebates of RM10,000 for every booking of the new Croner signed now until August 31, and full 100% financing valid until December 31 or while stocks last.
