Ford Motor Company and its local distribution partner, Sime Darby Auto Connexion (SDAC), today announced the nationwide launch of the Ford Ranger XL Standard pickup truck, priced at RM83,588 on the road without insurance in Peninsular Malaysia and RM89,388 in East Malaysia.

It is powered by a four-cylinder 2.2L TDCi diesel engine which generates 123hp and 320Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission and 4×4 shift on the fly (ESOF).

The Ranger XL Standard has a ground clearance of 230mm, and is able to wade through water up to 800mm deep.

Safety-wise, it has a reinforced safety cell supplemented with dual front airbags as well as head restraint and three-point safety belts across all five seats.

Other features include anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution (EBD), reverse sensors, remote keyless entry, side steps, rear cargo load rest, and inner and outer truck bed tie downs.

The Ranger XL Standard is available in two colours – Cool White and Meteor Grey.
