UMW Toyota Motor (UMWT) has announced order-taking for the new Toyota Camry and Corolla Altis begins from today onwards.

Both models are now available with a wider range of optional accessories which can be specified at the time of ordering the cars.

For the new Camry, the improvements made are new trim materials with all four variants having upgraded carbonwood trim with brown stitching on the dashboard.

The new Camry 2.5HV Luxury additionally offers new Kogane – which means gold in Japanese – leather seats, with the following optional accessories – USB charging ports and auto-fold wing mirrors, available for all variants.

For selected variants, a Panoramic View Monitor (PVM) is now available as well.

The top variant is the Camry Hybrid with a 2.5-litre Hybrid Synergy Drive for high performance without sacrificing fuel efficiency.

The new Corolla Altis can now be ordered with additional optional accessories – two USB charging ports across all variants, and Autofold door mirrors which automatically fold when the vehicle is locked by remote for the Corolla Altis 1.8E.

Also available to all variants are illuminated scuff plates on the front and rear doors, a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and PVM.

The clear images from the PVM enable the driver to see the road and spot obstacles that may damage the car, or even small children or animals that may not be visible through the rear view mirror.

Prices remain the same, with the Camry range starting from RM148,600 and the Corolla Altis from RM117,400, OTR without insurance.
